We live in a society where many of our men are unaware of exactly how to properly interact and care for a woman. I love my son. I will continue to teach him how to treat a woman, with equity, respect and honesty. To support her dreams. To give her the time she needs and desires. To communicate with her openly and to not shut her out. To show her not with only words, which will become empty words if not backed up by action, but to let his words reflect his actions and vise versa. To always treat her like the queen she is and never a second class woman. To love her fully, no left over, back-burner, second class love.
I will teach my son to be a real man. One who will not run away from emotions, a man who will not shut others who genuinely care about him, out, due to any form of fear or bad experiences. I will teach him to stand up and take responsibility for his actions and to not deflect blame unto others, especially those who loves him, just because he can. I will teach him, that a woman will at some point, walk, run, take flight, when she finally for the last time realizes a bad situation, which has become worst, ten times over, will never change for anything close to good, to get to better, let alone become close to best… she will stop reaching, stop asking, stop pleading, begging, arguing, she will stop speaking all together.
In her silence, she will take leave and in most cases, she will never look back. I will teach my son, how to never let any woman get to the silence. … I will teach him, if he doesn’t love a woman to let her know in the best and least damaging but most honest way he can but never lead her on. I will teach him, when he finds the one, to let her know in the best and grandest and most honest way he can and lead her well.
Men are seen as great leaders but often times they lack basic qualities needed to lead a woman. A woman will easily follow a man if she feels she has a choice. She will follow the man that allows her to be herself. The man that sees her and pays attention. The man that hears her and really listens. A man who is man enough to be gentle.
